VoIP rates

As you probably know, you can make cheap calls directly from your computer over your broadband connection using Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) providers. In some cases (e.g. Vonage) you don't even need a computer: you can simply plug a special phone directly into your broadband line.
Recently we have noticed a significant increase in the numbers of people looking for VoIP rates on our site. So we have now extended the list of countries covered in our VoIP database to match the list for calls from landlines.

Vonage limited time offer

Hi everyone,
Vonage have announced a limited time offer.
Here (in blue and indented) is what Vonage  say about their service and their current limited time offer. For more details visit Vonage's web site

Vonage are now offering a range of VoIP packages starting from £4.99 a month for unlimited calls in 24 countries.
Please see below some of the key reasons for choosing Vonage

·         to make unlimited phone calls to UK landlines for just £5.99 a month

·         to never worry about how long your call is, or what your bill will be

·         to be free to call many international landlines (and some mobiles) for a low set monthly fee (all kinds of packages available)

·         to be able to use your Vonage  phone anywhere in the world, just by plugging it into a broadband connection

·         to keep your original number, but ditch your existing phone provider

·         if you are a cable customer, to get a cheaper phone service (you can cancel your cable phone line and use Vonage over your cable broadband connection)

·         a second phone line so the kids don't hog the main phone (and you want to avoid the £124.99 charge to install a second BT phone line, as well as the second high monthly line rental)

·         or a second phone line to use when your working from home

·         the flexibility you get 20 great call features, all included in your call package

·         the freedom to choose a dialling code/area code rather than be tied to your geographical one

·         to choose an international dialling code/area code rather than be tied to the one for the country you're in

·         the call quality of a landline phone

·         to be able to use a normal digital home phone - no messy headsets or wires

·         to make phone calls just as normal, whether your computer is on or not

Cheap calls to Pakistan using Localphone

Hi everyone,
We received the following message from Localphone earlier this month. (Note that the price they quote excludes VAT.)

"In June we slashed the cost of calling Pakistan by a massive 50%, and now thanks to the overwhelming response from our customers we've already negotiated an even lower rate.
Effective immediately calls to Pakistan will be just 2.1p per minute to all landlines and mobiles - another 15% off!"

See http://www.ourfavouritecompanies.com/OffPeak/phone-rates/Pakistan.shtml#rates for our comparison of off-peak phone rates from BT landlines in the UK  to Pakistan.
See http://www.ourfavouritecompanies.com/calls-from-mobiles.shtml#P to see rates for calls from UK mobile phones to Pakistan.

Where we quote callthrough rates, we believe (based on the web pages of the companies we list) that calls are charged at the indicated price from a BT residential line.
BT apply a call set-up fee of 12.5 pence for each call made.
Other network operators' charges may vary.
You can check rates from BT landlines using BT's document
